The dragon seal of Curimae represents Curimean identity |
The Royal Kingdom of Curimae is a micronation with a presence in Panay and Mindanao. Founded in 2004, Curimae initially practiced republicanism but finally settled on monarchism. Curimae is a unitary monarchy with a parliamentary government. Its political structure consists of a Royal Council and a Royal Government. The Royal Council is headed by the King, who is also the head of state. The Royal Government is headed by the Prime Minister. The Royal Council serves as the judiciary, while the Royal Government serves as the executive. Legislative power is shared by the Royal Council and the Royal Government through the Parliament.
As of February 2023, Curimae has 2 districts: New Curimae City and Swelidez. New Curimae City is the royal capital; it is located in Panay, Philippines. Swelidez is the de facto administrative center; located in Mindanao, Philippines, it is the residence of the current Prime Minister. The Curimean economy is diverse. New Curimae City engages in retail and tourism, while Swelidez relies on agriculture. Curimae is a tax haven, and the Royal Government is expected to rely on investments and sales to generate revenue.
Speaking of foreign relations, while the Royal Council is neutral, the Royal Government regularly contacts governments of other micronations. As of June 2025, Curimae has diplomatic relations with—
- Shogunate of Bogderia
- Kingdom of Borondonia
- Empire of Hesminia
- Empire of Jakwal
- Democratic Republic of Espea
- United Lakanate of Vethony
- Republic of Victor
- Empire of Vilasia
Curimae is an observer state of the International League of Self-Declares Nation-States (ILSDNS), formerly known as the International Micronational League of Nations (IMLN). It previously had memberships to the Association of Micronations in the Philippine Islands (AMPI), the now-defunct Micronational Association of Southeast Asia (MASA), the Accande Terrie Ornido (ATO), and the Santo NiƱo Cooperation Union (SNCU). Curimae's first intermicronational allegiance was the Eastern Countries Nations Association (ECNA).
Reminder on micronations
Curimae is a micronation or virtual state. Do not take micronations too seriously, as they are not real countries. All participants of the Curimae project are Filipino citizens, and they only have the Philippines to be loyal to in real life. Micronations are mainly for simulations, hobbyist projects, or experimentations of what a new country may look like.
