About

The eagle seal of Curimae

The Royal Kingdom of Curimae is an alternative polity project with participants in Panay and Mindanao. Founded in 2004, Curimae, set up as a micronation, initially practiced republicanism but finally settled on monarchism. Curimae is a unitary monarchy with a parliamentary government. Its political structure consists of a Royal Council and a Royal Government. The Royal Council is headed by the King, who is also the head of state. The Royal Government is headed by the Prime Minister. The Royal Council serves as the judiciary, while the Royal Government serves as the executive. Legislative power is shared by the Royal Council and the Royal Government through the Parliament.

As of February 2023, Curimae has 3 districts: New Curimae City, San Tarcisio, and Swelidez. New Curimae City is the royal capital; it is located in Panay, Philippines. San Tarcisio is a spiritual district. Swelidez is the de facto administrative center; located in Mindanao, Philippines, it is the residence of the current Prime Minister. The Curimean economy is diverse. New Curimae City engages in retail and tourism, while Swelidez relies on agriculture. Curimae is a tax haven, and the Royal Government is expected to rely on investments and sales to generate revenue.

With regards to external affairs, since May 2026, Curimae is exploring the broader alternative polities sector, holding that micronations are only one among many subcultures of such organizations.

On relations with the rest of the micronations channel, Curimae is a member state of the Philippine Alliance of Local Micronations (PALM) and the International League of Self-Declared States (InterLeas). It previously had memberships to the Association of Micronations in the Philippine Islands (AMPI), the now-defunct Micronational Association of Southeast Asia (MASA), the Accande Terrie Ornido (ATO), and the Santo Niño Cooperation Union (SNCU). Curimae's first intermicronational allegiance was the Eastern Countries Nations Association (ECNA).

Reminder on the micronations channel

The Royal Kingdom of Curimae is an alternative polity project set up as a micronation or virtual state. Do not take micronations too seriously, as they are not real countries. All participants of the Curimae project are Filipino citizens, and they only have the Philippines to be loyal to in real life. Micronations are mainly for simulations, hobbyist projects, or experimentations of what a new country may look like. If someone harasses you, pretending to be government authorities, or you have other critical welfare concerns, immediately call real-world emergency services. Your wellbeing is superior to any pretense of statehood.
