Executive Order no. 1, s. 2024
Whereas, we have increasingly become more active at night that natural or standard evening becomes our new afternoon or even our new morning.
Whereas, 9 PM is associated with bedtime, while 7 AM is associated with waking up. And this association has remained stable.
Whereas, Filipino culture positively values tardiness in standard-time terms, surely associating it with a good life. In fact, experts at Harvard Medical School once stated (standard link to the source: https://www.tlc.com/style---self-care/study-says-people-who-are-always-late-will-live-longer-) that tardiness promotes optimism, better health, and longer life. Meanwhile, Daylight Savings Time (DST) gained notoriety for exacerbating sleep issues.
Whereas, the Royal Government of Curimae intends to defend public health. By shifting the clock behind standard time, we hope to mitigate sleeping issues and improve public health.
Wherefore, I, Genesis John Corvera Martinez, Prime Minister of Curimae, hereby do issue—
Section 1. The Royal Government hereby establishes two national time modes: the Curimean Standard Time and the Curimean Evening Protection Time. The Curimean Standard Time (CST) is 8 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), in line with the definition of Philippine Standard Time (PST, UTC+8:00). The Curimean Evening Protection Time (CEPT) is a range of 1 to 6 hours behind the CST.
Section 2. The Royal Government shall encourage the use of the CEPT. The format for indicating CEPT is CEPT+h:mm. The Royal Government shall defend the right to use the standard time. Any use of Daylight Savings Time (DST) shall be subject to review by the Royal Government.
