Royal Proclamation no. 2-2025

KINGDOM OF CURIMAE

Royal Proclamation 002-2025

By the Grace of God and the Will of the People

Let it be known throughout the realm and beyond:

Whereas, His Holiness Pope Francis I, the 266th Supreme Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church, servant of the servants of God, departed this mortal life with humility, grace, and unshakable faith; and

Whereas, His Holiness devoted his life to the service of humanity, championing peace, compassion, justice, and unity across all peoples, regardless of faith or station; and

Whereas, his legacy of mercy, environmental stewardship, and unwavering commitment to the dignity of every human being has left an indelible mark upon the hearts of millions;

Therefore, under the full authority vested in the Crown and in solemn accord with the will of the people,

We do hereby declare and ordain:

That the 21st day of April, beginning this year 2025 and in perpetuity henceforth, shall be observed as a National Day of Mourning throughout the land, in remembrance of Pope Francis I, and in reverence of his enduring legacy;

That on this day, the nation shall pause in reflection and unity, honoring the memory of a shepherd who walked humbly with God, and who, through his life and witness, inspired peace among nations;

Let bells toll at dawn, flags be flown at half-mast, and a minute of silence be held at midday across all institutions, great and small;

Given under Our Hand and Seal this 21st Day of April, in the Year of Our Lord 2025, in the Second Year of Our Reign.

Long live the memory of Pope Francis I.

So decreed. So witnessed. So sealed.
